What are students' wants and needs regarding the range of activities offered by Campus Student Life
As a student you can turn to Campus Student Life & Sports (Team Campus) for everything that makes student life worthwhile; student sports, events, social activities, study and student associations, student community, student interests, going out and much more. As part of its offerings, Team Campus organizes all kinds of activities and events -for and by students- at The Hague and around the city.
In order to get a better picture of the extent to which students need and use the range of activities on offer and what the wishes are around the range, a survey was conducted in February among the student panel of The Hague University of Applied Sciences. 195 panel members completed the survey. Thank you for completing the questionnaire, because your input as a student is important! By sharing your opinion and ideas, you influence the choices The Hague University of Applied Sciences makes. We would like to get back to you with the most important results of this survey.
Results of the survey
- Two-fifths of students are aware of Team Campus activities and events.
- As reasons for participating, most say they do so for relaxation and to try something new. Also to do something with friends or to make friends are often mentioned reasons.
- The majority of students feel that there is sufficient supply of activities and events at THUAS in addition to their studies, or have no opinion on this.
- As preferences for themes and activities, sports, food and gaming stand out. Some nice suggestions were made for specific activities, which we will of course take into account!
- Organizing events or activities yourself or with fellow students is not very popular. 15% of the students say they would like to organize something themselves with support from Team Campus.
- Students are satisfied with the sports offered by Campus Student Life & Sports because many different classes are offered for an accessible price and with good facilities. Areas of improvement are seen in the opening hours and size of gym.
- Half of the students prefer to do sports freely outside their studies. 40% prefer to play sports in groups, 24% prefer individual sports and 35% have no preference.
- Most students want to be informed about Campus Student Life & Sports activities and events via Instagram. A close second are the announcements on Student Portal. Are you already following us? @campushhs

What do we do with the results?
The above outcomes will be used to further tailor the range of activities offered to students' needs. And to ensure that students can find the offerings better. We can already announce that team Campus is organizing an E-Sports tournament at THUAS on Saturday, June 3, and that we are investigating whether we can make cooking together possible. We are also taking up wishes for activities in Delft, gym classes and a movie night.
